Children often focus of most heated arguments during divorce

When a divorce happens in Stamford, Connecticut, some believe that it is only the end of a couple. If children are involved, it could also be the end of a family. Many groups believe that children should have both parents present in their lives, if at all possible. Some say that this factor can be a major part of child development, and that divorced parents should make every effort to get along for the children’s sake.

If a couple has children, child support and custody determinations can instigate some of the most heated arguments of these divorces. Recently, the acrimonious divorce between former NFL player Deion Sanders and his wife has reached a fever pitch.

The couple agreed to share custody of their three children for the summer. Sanders has been ordered to pay more than $10,500 in child support each month for his children. As a current analyst for the NFL Network, he still has a stable source of income.

In addition to the allotted amount for child support, Sanders will have to pay $3,500 per month on a house where his former wife currently lives. Sanders has also been told to pay some of the legal fees that his ex-wife owes. The amount ordered was $275,000.

Despite the agreement to share custody of the children, it seems that the end of the marriage was not so clean-cut. According to reports, there were allegations of assault made by both Sanders and his former wife, after an incident at their home during April of this year. A judge later ruled that neither party had committed an act of domestic violence, but the couple’s children were in the house at the time, and it’s not good that they witnessed the argument.
